Hey people of Truckpol,
As you all know christmas is around the corner. I am hoping to get 200Pounds between my birthday and christmas, and I was hoping to upgrade my terrible machine (: Here are my specs -
Manufacturer: Acer
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 768MB RAM
Hard Drive: 164 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6100 nForce 405
Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio output
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_qfe.090206-1316)
I want to buy a new Graphics card and maybe a new processor, but really I just want to play my games on good detail without lag.
Games I play -
Euro Truck Simulator 18WoS Extreme Trucker RuneScape Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Basically they all lag ( apart from RuneScape )
Please post your recomendations.
Thanks,
SpooNz

Well i agree with the video card changing.... the processor you can change if you want. But i think you might find more performance getting more computer memory. 768 megs isn't a heck of alot when most systems these days have 2gigs minimum but usually have 4 gigs.

Download CPU-Z to check which motherboard you have, and all other specs of your computer: www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Depending on what socket your motherboard has, you will only be able to house a certain processor. Try and aim for a quad core processor (4 CPUs) and maybe a 8-9 series Nvidia card then get some more RAM in there you should be running fine Also, make sure you have good airflow in the PC otherwise components will overheat !
