I got my new Samsung PC, started it up when I brought it home and it partitioned my 680GB HDD into two, a C: and D: drive. The D: drive is supposed to be a back up and restore drive, that's what it says, but it is larger than my C: drive. I've already used up a lot of the now split into 231 GB C Drive. Is there any way that I can make the D drive smaller, and the C drive larger? I need that for main computing...so it didn't really make sense for it to partition it like that.
With samsung it is possible to remove the partition completely which kind of defeats the object of being asked (forced) to partition the harddrive when you first boot the machine.
Anyway the way that you adjust the partition is to go into computer management (type this in the search part of the start menu)
Double Click on storage --> Double Click on Disk management --> & I believe it form in here you can adjust the partitions
PS I had a samsung & it asked me to do the same but soon after i rang technical support & after a bit of "friendly" pursuasion i was able to get them to tell me how to do it & now that machine which my mum has works like a dream no more fannying around judging disk space just plain programs and trucking
also if you get stuck just drop me a message in my 20 & ill get back too ya
